Country Star Aaron Tippin To Perform For Troops On USO Holiday Tour
WASHINGTON -- Country music singer/songwriter Aaron Tippin will entertain troops stationed at Operation Enduring Freedom Forward Operating Bases over the Thanksgiving holiday. While on tour, he will perform free shows, sign autographs and mingle with the troops. This is Tippin’s second USO tour. He first entertained troops on a USO tour with Bob Hope during the Persian Gulf War, which he considers one of the highlights of his career.
Tippin, who began performing at age ten, was a commercial pilot before launching his professional musical career. His debut single, "You’ve Got to Stand for Something," reached the top ten, and his second album, "Read between the Lines," went platinum. He has four gold albums. His newest album, "Stars & Stripes," was released on Lyric Street Records on Sept. 10, 2002. "Stars & Stripes" contains the patriotic hit "Where the Stars and Stripes and the Eagle Fly."
The USO and Armed Forces Entertainment partnered to make this tour possible, along with USO World Partners Anheuser-Busch, AT&T, BAE SYSTEMS, Clear Channel Worldwide, Coca-Cola, ESPN, PricewaterhouseCoopers, S&K Sales Company, USAA Foundation, VFW, Wal-Mart and The Walt Disney Company.
Lyric Street Records is a part of the Buena Vista Music Group, which is the recorded music and music publishing arm of The Walt Disney Company.
The USO Celebrity Entertainment Program continues to be a morale booster for America’s service men and women, bringing a touch of home through music, laughter and personal outreach.
