QUESTION OF THE DAY
DID AARON TIPPIN EVER CRASH A PLANE? (see answer below)
AARON TIPPIN HELPING KIDS BY LAND AND BY AIR
Aaron Tippin recently offered a ride in one of his airplanes for a CMA auction to benefit ChildHelpUSA. The high bidder ($400) gets a ride with Aaron at the controls. ALSO, Aaron is offering his Nashville ranch as a game preserve for the SCI, The Outdoor Channel, Field and Stream Radio and Outdoor Life Radio. They're providing an all expense paid trip for a young hunter and an adult sponsor to hunt for whitetail deer with Aaron. The hunt will be taped for airing on the Outdoor Channel next year.
QUESTION OF THE DAY
DID AARON TIPPIN EVER CRASH A PLANE?
No, says Aaron, but he once came close. He was a teenager flying one of his father's acrobatic planes when he lost oil pressure. "I had to shut down the engine to keep it from seizing up," Aaron told us. "I said to my friend who was sittng in the front seat of this, 'I'm going to crash this airplane and my daddy's going to beat my tail!' And there was a short field, a very short grass strip about 3 miles from where I was and I had enough altitude to dead-stick land her safely there. And that's the closest I ever come to crashing I think. Saved the engine, my daddy never knew nothing about it."
