Sept. 20 — Longtime AOPA member and country music star Aaron Tippin, AOPA 01296922, toured association headquarters today, just prior to opening as the day's featured performer at the Frederick County fair.

"AOPA has been invaluable to me throughout my flying career," said Tippin, who worked as a charter pilot in the mid-1970s before finding fame as a country music star. His success in the country music field includes such gold chart toppers as Stand For Something, Read Between The Lines, Call Of The Wild, Lookin' Back At Myself, and Toolbox.

The 44-year-old entertainer holds a commercial pilot certificate with instrument and multiengine ratings and owns and flies a Cessna 185 and two Piper J-3 Cubs and is restoring a classic Cessna 195. He lives in Tennessee.
