Tippin takes trip to Wheeling
Plays concert Saturday at Capitol
Aaron Tippin
County music all-star Aaron Tippin will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday at Capitol
Music Hall in Wheeling.
Tippin has sold 5 million albums and is currently promoting his latest CD,
"People Like Us."
Tippin likes this CD because it's full of the important things in his life --
his music and his family. Two of the songs -- "Kiss This" and "The Best Love We
Ever Made" -- were co-written by Aaron and his wife, Thea, and two songs feature
vocals by family m embers. Thea does a movie duet with her husband on "The Best
Love We Ever Made," and his son Teddy ends a rollicking "Big Boy Toys" -- his
favorite on the album -- by saying the title in his 2 1/2-year-old voice.
As befitting a family-written song, "The Best Love We Ever Made" makes it
clear that love's most treasured outcome for parents is the child or children it
produces. It's become one of Tippin's favorite songs he has ever written.
"Kiss This" is vintage Tippin, full of honky-tonk attitude. The rowdy side is
further represented by the title cut, "People Like Us," co-written by David Lee
Murphy and Kim Tribble. Tippin's tender side is showcased in songs like "And I
Love You," "Alway s Was" and "I'd Be Afraid of Losing You."
Tickets for the Jamboree show are $19.95 and $23.95 and are available by
calling (304) 234-0050 or (800) 624-5456.
