Grand Ole Opry Audio Archives

Did ya miss the Grand Ole Opry televised 21 December 2002, which included Aaron and Thea?  The Saturday Opry Warm Up and the Grand Ole Opry will be available for the next 3 weeks through the radio station (650 WSM) online site, WSMOnline.com.  Both audio and video are available.

For the Opry Warm Up, go to:

Saturday Opry Warm Up - 21 Dec ~ Length = 90 Minutes

Aaron and Thea's segment begins about 45 minutes into the interview.  Aaron talks about his being detained in Qatar (per Aaron:  SouthWest Asia), Thea's musical background and how they met, his label as the "Junkman of Country Music," his patriotism and his Daddy, and they talk about their plans for Christmas.  Aaron also thanks radio for promoting his benefit single, 'Where The Stars And Stripes And The Eagle Fly.'  Aaron and Thea's segment is concluded with Aaron's 'Jingle Bell Rock.'

For the Grand Ole Opry, go to:

The Grand Ole Opry - 21 Dec ~ Length = 330 Minutes

Aaron and Thea performed during both shows.  Their appearance on the early show was during the 7-8pm time slot (begins about 30-45 minutes into the show).  The early show was the one that was televised.  Their appearance during the later show was during the 10:30-11pm time slot (begins about 240 minutes into the the show).

I was able to listen and to view these shows through Media Player.  Enjoy.

WMZQ - BEN & BRIAN INTERVIEW WITH AARON AND THEA
24 DECEMBER 2002

A Very Merry Christmas And The Best New Year Ever

May you feel the warmth of family, friends and love.
This holiday season
And throughout the upcoming year.
I wish you all the good things that are Christmas --
Shared with those you love best.

Aaron And Thea And The Grand Ole Opry

WOW!!  What a performance at the Grand Ole Opry!  Got tickets to both shows.  Long drive, so figured might as well.

I hope you had the chance to watch CMT's Grand Ole Opry Live last Saturday night.  If so, you were blessed with the segment that included Aaron and Thea.  Aaron came out first and sang one of the songs from his Christmas CD, 'It's Way Too Close To Christmas To Be This Far From You.'  What a wonderful Christmas song!  Pretty apt, considering where Aaron and the guys have been recently.  Then, Aaron brought Thea out on stage to sing his newest single release and their duet, 'Love Like There's No Tomorrow.'  You could tell how thrilled he was to share the spotlight with his wife and partner.  What a great job!
Tim and Faith better look out....

Got to see Aaron and Thea again with the 10:30pm show.  Again, what a terrific job!  I would think performing on the Opry stage at the Ryman would have to be pretty stressful, considering who has gone before.  I would imagine it was even more so for Thea, being her first time (Aaron has performed at the Opry at least twice that I know of, but at the newer Opry House near Opry Mills), but you would never know it.  Great job!

I've added a direct link to the photos I took at the Grand Ole Opry on my homepage.  Unfortunately, I didn't get very many photos of Aaron and Thea during the first show.  I was seated right behind the cameraman who often blocked my complete view, but I managed to get a few.  I did get quite a few during the second show.  To check the photos out, go to:

Grand Ole Opry 7pm

WMZQ - Ben & Brian Interview With Aaron and Thea Tippin

WMZQ (98.7fm-Washington, DC) is a radio station relatively close to where I live which airs 'Listen Live' interviews by Ben and Brian with country music artists.  Recently, Ben and Brian held an interview with Aaron and his wife, Thea, about Aaron's recent overseas tour with the USO.  I know y'all will love it; it's really interesting.  If you remember hearing about Aaron's tour overseas to Saudi Arabia in 1990, you'll remember his efforts to meet with as many of our soldiers personally as possible.  This time Aaron and the guys actually bunked with our soldiers.  Aaron and Thea also talk about their recent single release, 'Love Like There's No Tomorrow,' and how personal that song is to them.  The clip is about 6 minutes long.  You'll love it.

Go to:  Ben & Brian Audio Archives,
scroll down to Aaron Tippin, and click on Aaron Tippin.

FYI:  You will need Windows Media Player to hear this interview.  If you do not have it, you can download it from the WMZQ Ben & Brian Audio Archives site page.

A Very Happy 5th Birthday, Teddy

Birthdays are as special
As the people who have them
I know your day will be
Filled with laughter and love
And dreams come true.

Field and Stream Magazine Radio ~ Country Music Aaron Tippin

Field And Stream Magazine has a pretty neat audio clip with Aaron on his music and getting ready for deer season.  Aaron talks about his hunting store, Aaron Tippin Outdoors, mentions a lake near his home, Center Hill Lake and his planes.  He also talks about what he loves best about hunting and fishing, especially hunting.  And, Aaron relates his favorite deer hunting story.  The clip is about 6 minutes long.  You'll love it.

Go to:  Field & Stream Radio, and click on Country Musician Aaron Tippin.

FYI:  I was able to hear the audio clip at home (I have Real Player downloaded on my computer.), but was not able to hear the audio clip at work (I do not have Real Player downloaded at work, but do have Media Player.)

Aaron And The Guys Are Safely Home

Per Aaron's Official Site:

'Aaron and the band are back home from their USO Tour to
Afghanistan.  All went well and we hope to have some picture
and info from their trip very soon.'

I know I speak for all of us when I say how thrilled I am Aaron and the guys are safely home.  And, I am looking so forward to hearing all about their trip.

I live in Delaware near Dover Air Force Base.  Recently, several military personnel deployed to Afghanistan returned to our base.  According to their reports, Afghanistan is one of the worst areas overseas that they have ever been deployed to.  I have heard from many that they are so glad to be home here in the USA.  So, I am really anxious to hear about Aaron's USO Tour.

Aaron Tippin And CMT's Most Wanted Live

Hope ya had the chance to catch CMT's Most Wanted Live last night.  Aaron talked about his upcoming trip to Afghanistan and how excited he is about touring again with the USO.  Since Aaron has never been in the military, he feels this trip is a blessing and the 'only opportunity he has to serve our country.'  Aaron and the guys leave Sunday (24 Nov 2002).  Please keep them and all our military personnel in your thoughts and prayers while they are in harm's way.

TWO BIG ITEMS OF INTEREST:

Show your support.  You can leave a message that will be played for our troops before each of Aaron's shows.  The number to call is:  (866) 963-4857.  Just leave your name and where you are from plus a brief message.

Aaron's Next Single Release.  Aaron's next single release will be 'Love Like's There's No Tomorrow.'  This is a terrific song written and performed by Aaron and Thea.  Aaron specifically asked his record label to release this song.  In light of all that is happening in the world today, he couldn't release a more appropriate song.  You have to grab the moment because you never know what tomorrow may bring or whether you will have the chance if you wait.  I am not sure of the release date, but make sure you request this powerful new single.

GOD BLESS AMERICA.
GOD BLESS AARON TIPPIN AND THE GUYS.
AND, GOD BLESS OUR MILITARY PERSONNEL
OVERSEAS AND EVERYWHERE.

Aaron Tippin And Owensboro, KY

WOW!!  What a show Saturday night!  And, what a fun time!  Lots and lots of long-time Aaron Tippin fans.  Needless to say, the venue was really rockin.'  The venue (Executive Inn) in Owensboro, KY is one of those really neat venues with showroom, rooms, eats and shops all in one building.  It's also one of those venues where Aaron and the guys bring their families.  Thea and the boys joined Aaron on stage for the 'Kiss This.'  Teddy is getting to be quite a performer, and he has his own guitar stand right along side his Daddy's.  This show was one not to miss.

Got to see Aaron after the show.  He was in a really great mood.  As promised, I gave Aaron all your messages.  He told me he would read them on his way to Afghanistan.  Thanks to all who left messages.

Aaron Tippin To Appear on CMT Most Wanted Live

Aaron will stop by and perform on CMT's Most Wanted Live on Wednesday, 20 November 2002 at 7pm ET.  I'm sure you will not want to miss this show.  Remember, Aaron and the guys will be leaving for Afghanistan on 23 November 2002.

TO BE ON MWL:  Join CMT for a live taping of Most Wanted Live which is taped each Wednesday and Friday at 3 and 6pm CT and Saturday at 6 pm CT.  Just stop by their studio at the Gibson Bluegrass Showcase in Opry Mills two hours prior to taping to put your name on a backup list for their seated audience.  Or, you can call 615-831-0338, and they will give you a confirmation number that will hold your seat.

I was lucky enough to be in Nashville and be in the MWL audience in 2001 when Aaron performed 'Where The Stars And Stripes And The Eagle Fly.'  It was a lot of fun!  So, if you get the chance, try it.

Aaron is scheduled to perform at the Grand Ole Opry for two shows (6:30pm and 9:30pm) on Saturday, 21 December 2002.  I believe this will be Aaron's third appearance; I know he appeared in 94 and 98.  Tickets are on sale now for these shows.  To purchase tickets, go to:  www.opry.com.  You can also see the live broadcast on CMT's Grand Ole Opry Live Saturday at 8 pm ET/PT; repeats Saturday at 11 pm ET/PT and Sunday at 11 am ET/PT.
