DEBUTS PATRIOTIC SONG
September 20, 2001

County music star Aaron Tippin of Smithville performed live for the first time The Stars and Stripes and the Eagle Fly during Tuesday's "DeKalb County Rally for America" program.

Tippin actually wrote the song over two years ago, but it was never included on an album. He just recently recorded the tune, which will be released as a single with proceeds going to the American Red Cross.

Tuesday's program, coordinated by the Smithville-DeKalb County Chamber of Commerce, also featured the Smithville Community Chorus, a special tribute to DeKalb County Emergency personnel, and a special tribute to the military forces. Tippin's wife Thea and Clarence Young of Smithville also performed.
